Digital Menu Board Displays for Restaurants & Cafés
Digital menu board displays need to fit the counter layout, viewing distance and content-update process. Discuss your restaurant or café project with OKView to select a commercial display configuration and define the hardware, mounting and content-system responsibilities.
Plan the menu layout before selecting screens
Start with the menu content customers must read while ordering. Test item names, prices and product images at their intended size and distance. Consider reflections from windows and lighting, the position of queues and whether staff or equipment will block the screen.
- Single-screen menus for compact counters.
- Multiple screens for separate product categories or promotions.
- Portrait or landscape layouts suited to the available wall space.
- Customer-facing promotion screens with a separate ordering menu.
Specify the installation environment
Tell us whether the installation is indoors, window-facing or outdoors. Describe ambient light, operating hours, available ventilation and nearby heat or moisture sources. Confirm model suitability for the actual environment; an indoor display should not be assumed suitable for an outdoor drive-through.
Check the mounting surface, screen weight, bracket requirements, cable route and service access with the installer. Confirm the supported orientation and operating schedule for the model being quoted.
Decide how menus will be updated
Define who creates, approves and publishes menu content. A single venue may have different requirements from a restaurant group with multiple locations. List any needs for scheduled menus, local price changes, remote updates or offline playback, then confirm them with the selected media player or software provider.
Hardware quotations and content-management subscriptions are separate items unless stated otherwise. Test your chosen player, network and software on the proposed display before a wider rollout.
Sample and multi-site rollout checks
Evaluate a sample using a real menu, including the smallest text. Check startup behavior, input selection, network recovery and the process for replacing content. Document the approved settings so each installation uses a consistent configuration.
Digital menu board price: what changes the quote?
The quoted scope depends on screen size and quantity, installation environment, mounting, media-player requirements, accessories, packing and delivery destination. Ask for these items separately so a lower hardware price is not mistaken for a complete installed solution.
Prepare a restaurant display enquiry
Send a counter photo or layout, viewing distances, proposed screen quantity, menu format, operating hours and destination country. Include software and installation requirements so the proposed solution can be reviewed with your project team.
